The ZTE Grand X Pro is a smartphone that was announced in March 2013 and released in April the same year. Although it is now discontinued, it made a significant mark due to its mid-range features that offered good value for money. The device is based on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system and comes in multiple colors, including black, red, blue, and yellow.
Measuring 132.6 x 64.4 x 9.4 mm and weighing 146 grams, the ZTE Grand X Pro has a compact and manageable design. It supports both single and dual SIM options, utilizing Micro-SIM cards. Its build ensures a comfortable hold, and it is aesthetically pleasing with the variety of color options it offers.
The phone features a 4.5-inch TFT display with a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 65.4%. With a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of around 326 ppi, the display provides clear and crisp visuals that make it pleasant for multimedia use and casual browsing.
Under the hood, the ZTE Grand X Pro is powered by a Mediatek MT6577 chipset, which is built on a 40 nm process. It features a dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and a PowerVR SGX531u GPU. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSDHC card slot. This setup offers decent performance for basic tasks and light applications.
The smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP main camera featuring autofocus and LED flash for enhanced low-light performance. It is capable of recording 720p videos at 30 frames per second. The front VGA camera serves well for basic selfie and video calling needs. Although not groundbreaking, the camera setup is suitable for casual photography.
The ZTE Grand X Pro is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery. According to manufacturer specifications, it provides up to 500 hours of standby time and up to 11 hours and 15 minutes of talk time. This endurance is reasonable given the phone’s hardware and display specifications.
Connectivity features on the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and hotspot capabilities. Additionally, the phone supports Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and GPS positioning. A microUSB 2.0 port is available for charging and data transfer. Notably, NFC and FM Radio functionalities are absent from this model.
The phone includes a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring that it caters to the needs of users who prefer wired audio devices. Sensor-wise, it is equipped with an accelerometer and a proximity sensor, which assist in screen orientation changes and other functions.
The ZTE Grand X Pro supports GSM and HSPA network technologies. It can handle 2G bands (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G bands (HSDPA 900/2100 and 900/1900). The phone achieves network speeds of up to HSPA 7.2/5.76 Mbps, which was standard for its time of release.
