Operating initially on Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop) and upgradeable to Android 7.0 (Nougat) with MIUI 9, the Mi Note Pro promises a rich interface with many features. It incorporates the Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset built on 20 nm technology. The octa-core CPU consists of four 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 cores and four 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57 cores, providing a balance between efficiency and power. The Adreno 430 GPU ensures that graphics rendering remains smooth.
The device comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, allowing for multiple applications to run simultaneously without lag. The internal storage capacity is fixed at 64GB with no option for expandable memory, which might be a constraint for users requiring additional storage.
The main camera is a single 13 MP lens with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, and optical image stabilization (OIS), ensuring that users can capture clear and stable images even in low light situations. It features dual-LED dual-tone flash and supports HDR and panorama shooting modes. It is also capable of shooting 4K videos and 1080p videos at 30fps. The Mi Note Pro is equipped with a loudspeaker for clear audio output and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is convenient for users who prefer wired audio devices. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot capabilities. For Bluetooth, it uses version 4.1 with A2DP and LE support. Additionally, the device provides GPS with GLONASS and BDS for location services. Unfortunately, NFC and radio are not available, and it utilizes a microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support for charging and data transfer.
The phone comes with a range of sensors such as an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer enhancing its overall utility. It is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3090 mAh battery, supporting 18W wired charging via Quick Charge 2.0. This ensures relatively fast recharging cycles especially beneficial for heavy users.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro was offered in a variety of colors including Black, White, and Gold, catering to different aesthetic preferences. At launch, it was available at an approximate price of 250 EUR, providing competitive value considering its premium specifications at the time.
