The device features a glass front protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, a plastic back, and an aluminum frame, offering a premium feel. Additionally, its hybrid dual SIM slot allows flexibility, enabling users to balance personal and work lines efficiently.
The smartphone boasts a 5.65-inch IPS LCD display with a high resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Corning Gorilla Glass protection shields the display from scratches and minor falls.
Powered by the Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 chipset, the BQ Aquaris X2 provides a seamless performance capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently. The octa-core CPU is divided into 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Gold and 4x1.6 GHz Kryo 260 Silver processors, complemented by the Adreno 509 GPU for enhanced graphics rendering. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) under the Android One program, promising a pure Android experience with regular security updates.
The device offers two variants: one with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM, and another with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. Both options are capable of smoothly running daily applications, while the inclusion of a microSDXC slot allows users to expand the storage should they require more space, although it uses a shared SIM slot.
The dual main camera setup consists of a 12 MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, dual pixel PDAF, and a 5 MP secondary depth sensor. The combination allows for excellent low-light photography, bokeh effects, and detailed captures. Its video recording capabilities include 4K@30fps and 1080p@60/120fps, supported by gyro-EIS for stabilization.
The front features an 8 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture, capable of capturing detailed self-portraits even in dim lighting, thanks to the integrated LED flash. It supports video recording at 1080p@30fps, thus providing decent quality for video calls and vlogging.
The BQ Aquaris X2 retains the classic 3.5mm headphone jack alongside a loudspeaker for clear audio output. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX, and NFC, enabling seamless wireless connections and convenient data transfers. The presence of GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO enhances precise navigation capabilities.
Equipped with a non-removable Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery, the device supports 18W wired charging with QC4 technology. This ensures rapid charging times while providing enough power to comfortably last a day of typical usage.
The BQ Aquaris X2 is fitted with various sensors including a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass for enhanced user interaction. It also supports FM radio for entertainment and information.
